Head for the Hills! The Shift in Hollywood’s Demographic-

While the homes of the Hollywood Hills remain among the most desirable real estate in California, the owners of those homes are a changing lot. Traditionally, buyers into the Hollywood Hills real estate market have been older married couples. But a recent demographic survey of Hollywood homeowners shows that the new affluent community taking over H-Wood is of a single persuasion.

The percentages of unmarried and divorced singles- especially men- who are buying homes in the Hollywood Hills have skyrocketed in the past few years. Upstart urban sophisticates and high income corporate climbers are being drawn to these communities, for the same reasons it has attracted older money for years: Breathtaking views, an easy commute, and architecturally stunning homes.

The median age of a Hollywood homeowner today is 41; a full ten years younger than it was just a short time ago. This could quite possibly lead to a new, more open minded community in the not to distant future. Because in Tinsel Town, ten years can mean the difference between a starring role and a walk on part.
